Cor Van Raay YMCA, Lethbridge

About the water park: With 2 giant waterslides, a surf simulator, lazy river, tots spray area, climbing wall, wave pool, steam rooms, plus a regular 25m pool and large hot tub this indoor water park is amazing (and access is free if you already pay for a YMCA membership anywhere!). Day passes are available.

Henderson Pool, Lethbridge

About the water park: With a climbing wall, two water slides, zero depth entry, spray park, concession and more this pool is the place to be in the Lethbridge summer heat!

Vulcan Outdoor Pool

About the water park: With a 10-person accessible hot tub, zero entry pool, spray features with spray park, 1m diving board, climbing wall, inflatable toys, and two waterslides this pool is going to be a fun stop in the Star Trek themed town!

Village Square Leisure Centre, Calgary

About the water park: Rated one of the best indoor pools in Canada by Chatelaine magazine, Village Square Leisure Centre is a multi-purpose facility with an indoor water park, wave pool, and waterslides. A giant 48-person hot tub, kiddie pool, and the safari splash zone round out the aqua centre.

Southland Leisure Center, Calgary

About the water park: The indoor waterpark with the AquaPlay structure is the perfect area for kids to slide and play in shallower water. There is also a slide that is connected to the pool right beside which also feeds into the larger wave pool.

Discovery Canyon, Red Deer County

About the water park: Discovery Canyon is a seasonal park that has a natural river-fed water pool, a recreational park and playground, a concession and washrooms. Admission is free, however tube rentals are done through a bracelet system. You can also bring your own tubes.

Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash

About the water park: The first open-water park in Alberta, Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash has towers, bridges, slides, trampolines and so much more! Visitors must wear a life jacket and those between 6-8 years old need to be accompanied by an adult.

About the water park: The 45m wave pool, waterslide into deep water, and kiddie pool isn’t the most amazing water park, but you get access to it for regular water park rates (instead of WEM pricing!).

West Edmonton Mall’s World Waterpark

About the water park: Ride the waves in the world’s largest indoor wave pool, located in a tropical oasis that boasts an average temperature of 31°C. World Waterpark features more than 17 unique waterslides and play feature.
Tip: If the kids are under 48″ tall and you can go during school hours, look into toddler time to save some money and a quieter experience.

About the water park: This stunning rec centre has two large waterslides, several little-kid friendly waterslides (that big kids would still enjoy!), a massive splash park, a lazy river with multiple water features, and two lap pools! (This is seriously one of my favourite pools EVER.)
